College Internship Program

Rushton offers a College Internship Program for students seeking hands-on experience and a better understanding of career opportunities in the field of public accounting. Check our Job Fair schedule by visiting our Recruitment Events page and see when we will be at your school!

We offer a January-to-April paid, part-time internship program in both tax and audit, and will coordinate the exact time frame to match the semester schedule for selected interns. If you are interested in being considered as a candidate but will not be able to attend a job fair or recruiting event, send your resume per the contact instructions below.

Intern Program Eligibility Requirements:

  • A junior, senior or post graduate college student seeking a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Interning to earn a grade and college credit and/or valuable hands-on experience
  • Positive references from accounting faculty
  • A history of community or civic service highly recommended
  • A grade point average in good standing with your college or university
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

As an intern, you'll receive pay as well as valuable experience by cross pollinating over multiple departments at the firm.

If your interest is Tax, you will be able to dive deep into individual income tax returns and gain experience with many programs! These include UltraTax, SurePrep, Workpaper CS, Quickbooks, Quicken and Adobe! Before we get into those experiences, you will learn to prepare Excel spreadsheet analyses, scan and index tax records and many other necessary projects. Additionally, you will get hands on with business service tasks, such as data entry functions, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation and assisting with payroll tax preparation.

For those who are interested in Audit, you will perform audit testing and participate in discussions of audit processes and procedures with our audit teams! In addition, work in a program called Caseware.

Please email your resume to Frankie Capparelli, Talent Development Manager at before September 30th to be considered as an intern candidate for the upcoming year. In addition, please specify if you are interested in either the tax or audit internship program.
